Dr. Gloria Sraha is Head of the Department of Business Studies at Lancaster University Ghana and a Senior Lecturer with her experience in higher education spanning over a decade. She is a proficient academic, researcher, and educator with expertise in teaching, research supervision, academic leadership, and curriculum development.

Dr. Gloria Sraha holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from All Nations University, Ghana, a Master of Science in International Marketing from the University of the West of Scotland, United Kingdom, and a PhD in International Business from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), United Kingdom, and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.

Before transitioning to academic career, Dr Gloria Sraha spent more than 15 years with Produce Buying Company Limited (PBC Ltd), which is a major stakeholder in Ghana’s cocoa industry. She served as a Research, Evaluation and Monitoring Officer, where she conducted market research, monitored cocoa purchasing activities, and prepared statistical analyses that supported strategic decision-making. This extensive industry experience has enriched her teaching and research by enabling her to bridge academic theory with practical business applications.

Dr. Gloria Sraha’s academic and research expertise centers on International Business, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Technology-Enhanced Learning, Independent Learning, Research Methods, and Statistical Data Analysis. She is passionate about developing future business leaders by fostering critical thinking, innovation, and practical problem-solving skills. Her learner-centred teaching philosophy integrates experiential learning, case studies, industry engagement, and project-based learning to create meaningful connections between classroom concepts and real-world business practice.

With a strong presence in the research community, Dr. Sraha has published widely in esteemed global journals and scholarly books, covering key areas such as international entrepreneurship, export marketing, female entrepreneurship, and emerging markets. Her research contributes to advancing sustainable business practices and promoting the competitiveness of businesses in developing economies. As an educator, Gloria adopts learner-centric and experiential teaching methods, integrating case studies, and project-based learning to bridge theory and practice.

Beyond her teaching and researching responsibilities, Dr. Gloria Sraha is actively involved in academic service and community outreach. She supervises postgraduate research, examines MPhil theses, serves as a peer reviewer for internationally recognized academic journals, and works closely with secondary schools to promote higher education opportunities. She has also organized numerous industry visits to leading manufacturing organizations, providing students with valuable practical exposure to complement their academic studies.

Dr. Gloria Sraha is an active member of the Academy of International Business (AIB), the Women in the Academy of International Business (WAIB), and the African Chapter of the Academy of International Business. She regularly reviews papers for the AIB Annual Conference and the Academy of Management (AOM) and serves as a reviewer for several internationally recognized journals, including Cross Cultural & Strategic Management, Journal of International Business Policy, and Thunderbird International Business Review.

Her work continues to focus on enhancing excellence in higher education while advancing research in international business, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic development.
