Dr. Shamindi Pathirana serves as the Head of the Student Success Centre, bringing over a decade of international experience to the field of education, student support, and inclusive learning. Her expertise spans curriculum development, language acquisition, academic success, and student wellbeing, with a particular focus on supporting culturally and linguistically diverse learners.Â
She holds a degree in English Literature from the University of Delhi and a Master’s in Secondary Education from Victoria University. In 2025, she completed doctoral research on factors affecting English language acquisition among international students and learners from refugee backgrounds, reflecting her longstanding commitment to equitable access to education.
This academic expertise is complemented by extensive practical experience in trauma-informed teaching, gained through years of working in secondary schools across Sri Lanka and Australia. A specialist in supporting diverse learners, Dr. Shamindi is dedicated to fostering inclusive environments for both native speakers and students from varied cultural backgrounds.
