POSITION SUMMARY

 The Marketing Manager (Fixed Term 6 Months) is responsible for leading and executing strategic marketing initiatives that enhance the institution’s brand visibility, support student recruitment objectives, and strengthen stakeholder engagement during the maternity cover period. This role also offers the potential to transition into a full-time position, based on performance and business needs.

This role will oversee the day-to-day management of the marketing function, ensuring the effective planning, delivery, and evaluation of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, communications, PR, and outreach channels. A strong emphasis is placed on student recruitment, school engagement, events, and partnership development.

The position plays a critical role in maintaining momentum across marketing activities, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, and delivering measurable results within a fast-paced higher education environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Core responsibilities

 Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Lead and manage the marketing department, ensuring continuity of operations and delivery of key objectives during the maternity cover, with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business needs.
  • Develop, execute, and optimize marketing strategies aligned with institutional priorities and growth targets
  • Oversee planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, events, PR, and traditional channels

Student Recruitment & Outreach

  • Drive student recruitment initiatives, focusing on lead generation, conversion strategies, and pipeline support
  • Coordinate school engagement programmes, building strong relationships with schools, counsellors, and partners
  • Lead outreach strategies including careers fairs, exhibitions, and recruitment events
  • Evaluate performance and ROI of recruitment events, fairs, and outreach campaigns

Brand, Digital & Communications

  • Ensure strong and consistent brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms
  • Oversee digital marketing channels, including website, SEO/SEM, social media, and email campaigns
  • Manage PR, communications, and external visibility initiatives
  • Lead content strategy and development across all marketing collateral (digital and print)

Analytics & Performance Management

  • Monitor and analyse marketing performance metrics and campaign effectiveness
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve engagement and conversion
  • Track and report on recruitment marketing KPIs

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate closely with Admissions, Student Recruitment, and Academic teams to align campaigns with recruitment targets
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, suppliers, media partners, and event organisers
  • Oversee marketing budget allocation, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  • Support the organisation and execution of open days, school visits, outreach programmes, and institutional events
  • Coordinate internal communications related to campaigns and key initiatives
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform campaign planning and positioning
  • Contribute to brand development and institutional storytelling initiatives
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and committees as required
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by senior leadership in line with institutional priorities

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIM, Digital Marketing) are an advantage

Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven experience in a marketing management role (minimum 3 years).
  • Experience in higher education, student recruitment, or service-based industries preferred
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, branding, and campaign management

LOCATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is a full-time, on-campus role offered on a 6-months contract.
